Way back the late 1930’s, Dolores Santos, who was fond of cooking specially native products, thought of selling kakanin in the neighborhood to help sustain her family’s everyday needs. The products were Bibingkang Galapong, Kutsinta, Maja Blanca, Biko – Pinipig, Malagkit, Monggo and Bibingkang tinapay (bread pudding). It was sold in the cockpit arena in La Loma, Quezon City and also in Malabon Central market. Because of the continued demand, Dolor’s kakanin was established.
Today, Dolor’s kakanin produces six kinds of native kakanin, these flavors include the best selling Sapin-Sapin, Kalamay, Ube, Mais, Kutsinta, Kamoteng kahoy , and Biko. Other products include Pitsi-pitsi with Cheese, Ube halaya, Pansit Malabon, Relenong Bangus, breads and other native delicacies. Dolor’s kakanin is not only available in Malabon, but also exclusively distributed by its sister company “Mommy’s Malabon Pride" with branches located at Congressional Ave. QC, West Service Road, Sucat, Landmark Food Center Trinoma and Makati, Landmark Market place Trinoma, SM Supermarket weekend Bazaar – SM Makati, SM Megamall, SM Fairview, SM Southmall, SM Manila, SM North Edsa, SM Savemore Market Festival Mall and SM Savemore Market Nagtahan.
